Chris Sumlin Launches Off the Record Partnership With Events Leading Into 2027

Chris SumlinFounder, Sumlin Media Group · Nov 4, 2026 · 5 min read

Chris Sumlin is bringing a new slate of events to downtown Phoenix through a partnership with Off the Record, the popular singalong bar where music and a lively crowd help turn a night out into a shared experience. Through Sumlin Media Group, the creator and event host is developing programming that brings together singles, music fans, local businesses, and people who want their entertainment to support a cause.

The partnership builds on two successful events: a sold-out Drake Day Party and October’s For the Girls fundraiser, which raised $2,000 for Check for a Lump. Now, Sumlin and Off the Record are carrying that momentum through the holiday season and into 2027, with a calendar featuring interactive singles events, artist celebrations, and another opportunity to give back.

For Sumlin, known as Arizona’s Most Trusted Voice, these events give his audience a place to connect beyond social media. People who discover a venue through his content can experience it together, bring a friend, and meet someone new. Off the Record offers a natural setting for that approach, with a singalong atmosphere that encourages guests to join in.

The Drake Day Party demonstrated how strongly that combination could resonate. The event sold out, bringing fans together around music they knew and loved. All VIP tables were claimed, and the initial 50 free RSVPs were exhausted. The response showed the appetite for an artist-focused day party built around a familiar host, a strong DJ, and a room ready to celebrate.

ZayGoCrzyyy is a central part of that momentum. One of Arizona’s hottest DJs, he is reemerging on the Phoenix nightlife scene and helping shape the sound of the upcoming event lineup. His appearances include the November 15 Sunday Singles Party and November 22 R&B Friendsgiving. Following the sold-out Drake Day Party, his return gives attendees another reason to look forward to the next celebration.

The partnership also builds on a measurable community contribution. Held in early October, For the Girls brought women together for a day party supporting breast cancer awareness and raised $2,000 for Check for a Lump. Sponsors, vendors, DJs, and attendees all helped turn a celebration into support for a local organization.

That result matters as Sumlin Media Group develops more events with a charitable purpose. The goal is to create gatherings people want to attend while giving them a way to participate in something meaningful. For the Girls established a foundation for bringing entertainment, local business participation, and fundraising into the same room.

Next on the calendar is the Sunday Singles Party on November 15, from 2 to 7 p.m. Designed for adults ages 35 and older, the event will combine time to meet other guests, an interactive conversation, and a dance party. Admission is free with RSVP.

Guests will check in from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by an interactive conversation from 3 to 5 p.m. That portion gives attendees an opportunity to participate in a shared discussion about dating and relationships. From 5 to 7 p.m., the gathering shifts into a dance party with sounds by ZayGoCrzyyy.

Hosted by The Chris Sumlin, the event will also feature $7 wells and $30 bottles of champagne. Its structure gives guests several ways to connect throughout the afternoon, whether they arrive ready to talk, prefer to get comfortable first, or find it easier to meet people on the dance floor.

On Sunday, November 22, R&B Friendsgiving will celebrate the music of Rihanna and Beyoncé while raising money for St. Mary’s Food Bank. The event brings two devoted fan communities together for an afternoon centered on familiar songs and support for people facing food insecurity.

Sumlin will host, with ZayGoCrzyyy providing the soundtrack. Building on the community response to For the Girls, R&B Friendsgiving continues the effort to make giving back part of the event experience. Fans can celebrate two major artists while helping support a cause that reaches beyond the venue.

December introduces With You Wednesdays, the singles series launching December 2. DJ MayDay will provide the sounds for all four scheduled December mixers: December 2, 9, 16, and 30. Sumlin will host each gathering, creating more opportunities for guests to meet and continue the conversation throughout the month.

With You Wednesdays will feature interactive questions, music, and $7 glasses of wine, with events beginning at 7 p.m. The series gives guests another setting to explore connections and spend time with other singles. Having DJ MayDay across the December dates also gives the series a consistent musical presence.

Sunday, December 13, brings Swiftie Sunday, a dance party celebrating the life and music of Taylor Swift. Running from 2 to 7 p.m., the event will welcome fans of all ages for an afternoon of shared favorites, dancing, and singing along.

Hosted by The Chris Sumlin, Swiftie Sunday will feature sounds by JSteele from Power 98.3. His place on the lineup adds another recognizable Arizona radio connection to the partnership, while the artist-focused format builds on the enthusiasm that helped make the Drake Day Party a success.

The following Sunday, December 20, Mariah Mania will bring another major music celebration to Off the Record. Sumlin will host, with sounds by DJ MayDay. The event adds a Mariah Carey celebration to a December calendar already featuring Taylor Swift fans and the weekly singles gatherings.

A possible New Year’s Eve party is also being discussed, with additional details dependent on Off the Record’s plans. As the partnership develops toward 2027, Sumlin Media Group will share confirmed announcements and RSVP information through its channels.

Local businesses will also have opportunities to explore sponsorships and vendor participation as the event slate develops. Vendor booths start at $200, with limited spaces available. Businesses interested in showing up at future events can contact Sumlin Media Group to discuss how their products or services might fit the lineup.

For attendees, the invitation is straightforward: find a gathering that interests you, show up, and become part of the experience. With successful events already behind them, Chris Sumlin and Off the Record are building a calendar that gives Phoenix more reasons to come together.
